A native of Northeast Louisiana, Ken Fryer has been in the gospel ministry since the age of eighteen. As a worship pastor for twenty-three years, Ken was blessed to have served in some of the most prominent churches in the Louisiana Baptist Convention including Parkview Baptist in Baton Rouge, Williams Boulevard Baptist in New Orleans, Florida Boulevard Baptist in Baton Rouge, Milldale Baptist in Baton Rouge, and Willow Point Baptist in Shreveport. While at Milldale Baptist, Ken had the privilege of working with the man he considers to be his mentor, Pastor Jimmy Robertson who helped Ken to have a passion for Holy Spirit revival and intimacy with God.
After twenty-three years in music ministry, God called Ken to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is currently the Pastor of the College Place Baptist Church, where he has ministered since June, 2011. Ken’s passion is that all people will know, worship and have a vibrant relationship with The One True God of the Bible through His Son -- the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ken is active in the work of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Louisiana Baptist Convention and has served as President of the Louisiana Baptist Pastor’s Conference, Trustee of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Chairman of the Committee on Nominations of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and chairman of the Committee on Committees of the Louisiana Baptist Convention. Ken also serves on the Board of Directors of Fires of Revival, Inc. an organization which is committed to seeing revival fires once again sweep across America and publishes a paper by the same name with a circulation of about 46,000.
Bro. Ken is very active musically having led worship for over 200 revivals. Ken was an adjunct music professor at Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport and is the former Director of Choral Activities at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

Email Jaimie"I want you to be merciful; I don't want your sacrifices. I want you to know me; that's more important than burnt offerings." Hosea 6:6
About three years ago, someone asked me what my favorite bible verse was. At a complete loss, I came across this verse one day and thought, "That'll work!" Needless to say, I never knew how much this verse would shape who I am and my approach to life. I am not doing God any favors to Him by showing up on Sunday morning and going through the motions and ceremonies of worship. He desires my mercy and my sincerity. My burnt offerings and things that I consider as sacrifices mean nothing without my knowledge of Him. Simply put, God values my faith and kindness more than my sacrifrices and ceremonies. This verse serves as a definition of how to live a life of worship.
One of my favorite illustrations of worship and the church is a football stadium. In a stadium you have players, coaches, fans, cheerleaders, food servers, etc. Where do you fit in life? Are you a player on the field of life? Or are you a fan in the stands, watching and pointing, getting excited only when something good happens? Are you a cheerleader supporting everyone and encouraging? We all know who the Head Coach is, giving us the plays and directions in life to carry out.
So I challenge you! A pastor once shared, that we should live our lives in a manner that we shouldn't have to appproach anyone about Jesus. People should approach us because inquiring what is in us that makes us so different? Is you life and worship worth sharing?
See you at the Place!
Jaimie
